Terminology

Mindful Drinking

The practice of paying deliberate attention to when, why, and how much you drink, rather than doing it on autopilot.

Mindful drinking is the habit of making alcohol a conscious choice instead of a default. It does not require abstinence. It means noticing the occasions where you would drink out of routine and deciding, deliberately, whether you actually want to. For many people that leads to drinking less, alternating alcoholic and alcohol-free drinks across an evening, or reaching for a well-made alcohol-free cocktail when the point was the ritual rather than the alcohol.

Why It Matters

Mindful drinking is the mindset that makes an alcohol-free cocktail feel like a genuine choice rather than a consolation. When the ritual of a good drink matters as much as the alcohol once did, a thoughtfully built AF drink does the whole job.

Where You'll Use It

Any evening, party, or dinner where you want the drink without the automatic pour.
